SHANNON M. WHITWORTH

Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Macalester College (St. Paul, MN) in 1992, and my Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin in 1996. I have been a practicing litigator since I graduated law school, with experience in both civil and criminal law. I joined the firm in 2001, and am in the "Business Litigation" section. My focus is on using business law to resolve problems, both within and between businesses. To accomplish those goals for our clients, I use the range of resolution techniques involving litigation, arbitration, mediation and negotiation, but I always begin with plain common sense.

Being a resident of Milwaukee, I am also involved with many community organizations and enjoy going back to teach at my law school. I do this because I believe that lawyers have a tremendous set of skills and opportunities that can have a positive effect on the world outside the law firm walls. I also feel those opportunities provide me with experiences that make me a more knowledgeable lawyer and more effective at my profession.
