James C. Reiher is a shareholder with the firm of Mawicke & Goisman, S.C. of Milwaukee. He is a former Vista lawyer with the Civil Division of the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis, Milwaukee Public Defender in the felony trial division of the Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee and shareholder with the firms Perry, First, Reiher, Lerner & Quindel S.C.; vonBriesen, Purtell & Roper, S.C.; and Britton & Reiher, S.C. While at vonBriesen, he was head of the Litigation Section of the firm for 10 years. He is currently a member of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and past Board member. Mr. Reiher has long been a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is a member of the Wisconsin Emeritus Panel of Attorneys with the Federal Defender Office in Milwaukee. He is also a prosecutor of ethical violations involving attorneys on behalf of the Wisconsin Office of Lawyer Regulation. Mr. Reiher has a lengthy history and experience in criminal defense work as well as complex civil litigation involving multiple defendant cases, the prosecution and defense of employment related matters, legal malpractice and ethics issues, and substantial participation in mediation/arbitration. In this respect, he has represented a vast array of diverse interests. This includes large corporate defendants, executives, numerous small businesses, employers, non-profit organizations, government officials, unions, individual employees, career criminal defendants, gang members, and your "average Joe" caught in the web of the criminal justice system. Mr. Reiher has lectured on the subject of legal ethics, confidentiality/privileges, and clergy abuse. He also has been a trial practice instructor at the University of Wisconsin law school. He regularly appears as a performance judge in the State Bar of Wisconsin High School Mock Trial tournament. In addition, he has been a member of the Mediation Committee and Judicial Selection Committee of the Milwaukee Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the States of Wisconsin and California, the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, the Seventh and Ninth District Courts of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Reiher received his undergraduate degree in Business from Northwestern University and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. |
