Beyond the Firm
I enjoy working to affect positive change in my neighborhood and in the community. I’m a board member of the Victory Garden Initiative and an active, past board member of the Bay View Neighborhood Association. I also volunteer regularly with local political campaigns. Biking, running, and martial arts help keep it all in balance.
Defining Legal Moment
There was a time when the lawyer, ensconced in books, was the gate keeper to all things legal. Then, at some point not too long ago, the Internet seemed poised to swallow up the practice of law. That’s when I realized that I could be even more valuable to my clients.
It’s no longer just what you don’t know that can hurt you--even more dangerous is what you think you know, but that’s not quite right, or worse, just plain wrong. Being a valuable partner to my clients means more than just being knowledgeable and efficient. It means respecting them enough to work collaboratively with them when they’re willing and able to do some of the work themselves, and helping them become more confident in what they do.
